Won't Fix

Hi everyone.

I am hoping someone can help me.

I played the game yesterday, no issues.

Trying to load saved world, start a new one with any mod and I keep getting errors and will not load a new game unless it is mod free.

I'm trying to understand the log file but have so far not been able to determine what has changed.

I should at least be able to start a new game....

Hello, Rob,

thank you for reaching our forum with your issue.

Well, first of all, we do not support mods. It's the mod creator/owner responsibility to make sure that the mods are working fine with the current game version. And since there were two updates recently (the Automatons one and hotfix), it is actually possible that the mods are not updated by their creator yet and that's why you can't play the game that are using them.

If you are writing that the game is working fine without any mods, then there is nothing for us to fix, really, since the game without mods has no issue.

You are also writing about getting errors when loading the game. What do they tell, can you share e.g. screenshot of that error? Are these always the same, or they do vary?

There are some other errors as well in your log. For example "TryChangeToFullscreen". In order to fix this one, you can try to change the resolution and window mode in the game options. Or if this would not work for you, you can try to locate this file on your PC and change the value manually.

For this, go to SE folder in Roaming, by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar, you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\. There you should be able to find a SpaceEngineers.cfg file. You can open in using e.g. notepad. Find line 90 and 92, that says

<Key>WindowMode</Key>

<Value xsi:type="xsd:string">1</Value>

By changing the number in line 92, you can change the Fullscreen setting here manually. It goes like: Windowed 0, Fullscreen window 1 and Fullscreen 2. Save the file and try to run the game.

Please let me know if this did any change on your side. If not, and you would still experience any issues, can you please tell me exactly what is happening on your side when you are loading the game? Is it trying to load, fail and take you back to Main menu? Or something else is happening?

Since you are saying that vanilla games do not have this issue, I take it there would not be much sense to ask for log from game without mods. But as said above, we do not support mods, unfortunately.

You would need to try to load the game with the mods and e.g. take them out one by one and see if there is any change, and with this method you should be able to locate the broken mod(s) that is responsible for your issues. If you manage to find some that are broken, please let know their creators and ask them for fix.

For any more help from our side, I would need you to reproduce this issue on the game without mods, actually. Only with this and with logs with game without mods, we can take more actions and try to find the reproduction steps or other means to help you in this matter.

Kind Regards
