Dead Drop Arena: Entirely Broken

I tried playing Dead Drop Arena with my friends, completely vanilla. no settings tweaked. just SE
We'd all get into a ship, the hangars would open, but we wouldn't disconnect, our flight and weapon systems would enable, the hangars would close, THEN we'd drop onto the hanger, and explode.
Happens to all ships. And it's been happening for a long time, 100% since before automatons. and I'm not sure which update specifically before then.
