Game freezes for 5-10 sec every minute

Solved

specs

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

GTX 3060ti

32GB RAM

happens in multiplayer and single player no mods

-trouble shooting steps taken so far

updated graphics driver

restarted pc

turned settings to low

fresh install space engineers (deleted roaming folder with install)

reinstalled VC Redist 2015-2022

switched to previous updated 1.201 most wanted

Hello, Tyler Schartz,


I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. Can you please try the following:


Verify your game files in Steam

-Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files


Delete ShaderCache folder

-Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg


Restart Steam

Make sure your operating system is fully updated


Are you using autosave? Sometimes this cause cause the freezing if it happens around the time of the autosave. How many saves have you got? If there are too many it could also cause the freezing. When you look into the task manager is there anything indicating that you are using too much memory?


If nothing works can you please share your save file with me so that I can try to identify the issue there?


  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Had a game update and a graphics driver update, between one or both of those the game is working correctly now.
