New Event Controller

Elijah McNair shared this bug 18 months ago
Solved

Hello, I've been playing this game since just after the previous update and dlc came out so its been a smooth and exciting ride. I really enjoy the game and can't wait to see what comes next. I've been hot on my heels waiting for the Event Controller and the other ai blocks since I heard about them. But after the release I'm missing about half of the content, I do have all the dlc's already and have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and them once already but I'm still missing most of the update I feel like. I have the ducts and signs and the spider, as well as the ai controllers and the emotion controller, but I'm missing everything else. The big things I wanted were the Event Controller and the full block air vent. I don't know what else to do to get them. Please help, I really like the game and want to continue to make ships and fleets with the new Event Controllers to give them better sub system automation.

Hello, Elijah,

thank you for writing to us about your issue.

However, I would need more information.

Are you sure that you have bought the DLC and it's not only the free update items that you are seeing and can use?

Can you please check? You can do so e.g. here:

https://www.spaceengineersgame.com/update-1-202-automatons/

If you are positive that you really bought the DLC properly, can you also check that you have it added in the Steam DLC tab of the game?

You can do so by right clicking on Space Engineers in your game Library – Properties – DLC. Then locate Space Engineers – Automatons and check that there is tick in the tick-box on the left side.

If yes, and it is correctly downloaded and installed into your game, can you please check that you have unlocked all the blocks prerequisites from the Progression tab in the game itself? It is located in the G-screen from where you are building the blocks. If you take a closer look on the upper part, there are two tabs – Blocks and Progression. From the Progression tab, you can easily see which blocks you need to build first in order to unlock the rest of the blocks from that branch.

Or if you want and "easier and faster" way how to check, please only start new creative game with Progression disabled from the Advanced settings. If you start the game like this, all blocks should be available and buildable right from the start.

If not, please try to verify your game files in Steam: Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files.

If nothing from above would work, can you please share me image of the G-screen (and progression tab), and also your log file, please?

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Please let me know of the current situation after trying these steps. Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards

I play the Xbox version, and I did figure it out. I do use mods but nothing to crazy just bigger thrusters and gates, and a weapons expansion. But the mod that broke the game was a mod called colorful icons and I guess it doesn't allow the new items to show up on the same category, because all of the new items that were in their own place worked just find but if it was in a previously made one like the vents and some of the variations wouldn't show up. I posted the problem and my solution in a xbox space engineers Facebook group I'm in cause I've several other people have the same issue. Thank you for your time and for making such an amazing game, I can't wait to see what's next and how badly I can break it.

Hello, Elijah,

oh, those are great news!

Happy to hear that you did manage to fix it yourself. And it actually makes sense. The mod most likely needs update for the new blocks.

Since there is nothing more we can help you with at the moment, I will close this thread as solved.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you happen to observe/experience any other issue in the future. However, it might be good idea to state clearly that you play on Xbox, so we can at least move you message properly next time.

Happy Engineering!

Kind Regards
