Unable to load worlds or spawn blueprints

Andy Deighton shared this bug 18 months ago
Won't Fix

Hi,

Since the automatons update I am unable to load into any of my old worlds, I get the error saying they may be corrupted and to restart the game and try again. I have made sure the issue is not related to an out of date mod by creating a new world and adding all of the previous worlds mods to it, which loads in fine.

I expected there may be issues after the update so I elected to try the new world and rebuild to the point where I was and continue.

Unfortunately I am unable to spawn in anything from my blueprints. There is no error, the blueprint just doesn't appear, and this is with both modded and non modded blueprints that worked absolutely fine a few hours before the update as I was playing at 3pm today.

The crash log suggests a mod is the issue for the world being unable to load, but as I said the new save works absolutely fine with the same mods

I am more concerned about my blueprints as obviously these are creations I have put large amounts of time and effort into, and it affects both local and cloud grids.

Thank you for your time.

Update

The bug also is present when trying to paste in Workshop creations that are not my own. If I subscribe to a grid on the workshop I am also unable to paste it into my own world.

I have cleared my shader cache, CFG file and validated game files and it has had no effect.

Even the back up saves of my worlds also seem to be affected by whatever this is.

Update #2

I may have found the issue. I decided to rebuild one of my ships from memory and when I placed the remote control block my game crashed. I tested it again and the issue persists. I'm guessing that also means that any world that has a remote control block in won't load and any blueprints that have them won't spawn or be copied to clipboard.

Hello, Andy Deighton,

thank you for reporting to us. Yes, you are correct. Your save was corrupted by your mods. It is best to deactivate all mods before an update so to ensure they do not break anything until they get updated as well.

Can you please share your corrupted saves with me, please?

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Can you please open another thread for your problem with blueprints? We will assist you there. Thank you.

Kind regards,
