game crashes while loading or during gameplay

Samuel Olos shared this bug 19 months ago
Solved

according to this log it is crashing due to a lack of memory, the system its running on has 16GB in total, i know that SE can be a demanding game but what makes this issue strange is that the games runs crash-free on my weaker laptop, which only has 8GB of memory.

help with resolving this issue would be appriciated,

thank you for your time.

Hello, Samuel Olos,

I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. Can you please share your log from the time the crashed happened?

- You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

thank you for the logs. I have a couple of questions for you and few solutions.

Have you tried to update your drivers? If not you can do that, which could help with your problem.

Are you running lower resolution on your weaker PC? You can try to change the graphics settings in game so that it is easier for your PC to run the game.

Lastly you can try to completely uninstall the game from Steam. Make sure that everything is gone from the Roaming and Steam file, there should be no leftover files at all ( You can access your Roaming files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers ). If there is still some present, please delete those manually. After you make sure that there is nothing left, restart your PC, install the game again, restart your PC and try to launch the game.

If it still does not work after reinstall, you can try to change the settings again.

Thank you for letting me know if any of these worked.

Kind regards,
