Cannot connect to friend's world through steam anymore

Hello,

I've been playing Space Engineers with my friend for a few months and one day we could no longer connect to each other. Whenever we try to join each other it says "Server is not responding"

We have both reinstalled the game, turned off all mods and turned off firewall which haven't worked

We are both able to connect to any public servers, but not each other

(The attached log is from the Beta version, but this issue applies to both versions of the game)

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

Could you share additional information concerning the issue?

Are you playing with your friend in Lobby or on a Dedicated Server (DS)?

Do you/your friend have VPN enabled, or does your friend have a plugin active in the game? If so, kindly disable them and check if you can join your friend's world.

If the issue persists, you and your friend may revert to the game's default version (1.201.014), verify the game's integrity, and try joining again.

If you still can't join your friend's server, kindly send us the world save you're having a joining issue, along with your and your friend's latest log files when experiencing this issue.

  • Your friend can find lobby world save files by typing %appdata% into the Windows search bar and when redirected to the hidden Roaming folder \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your friend's SteamID and saves. If the said world save is on Dedicated Server (DS), your friend can find the world save in the \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves folder.
  • Please ask your friend for the world's save, zip the file, and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • Your friend can find log files by typing %appdata% into the Windows search bar and when redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. Logs will be in the \Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder. For DS, your friend can find logs in the \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated folder.
