Space Engineers Crashing After Computer Updates

Christopher Goggin shared this bug 20 months ago
Won't Fix

Hello Space Engineers Team,

I absolutely love this game and it normally runs without any issues, however, I've encountered a problem where it crashes every time I load my survival server. I tried a few of the methods listed in forums including verifying game files, deleting the CFG file, deleting content of ShaderCache, and even reinstalling the game, but to no avail. It continues to crash within seconds of loading the save file. I was wondering if someone might be able to review the Log (attached) of the crash and let me know what is going on?

Thank you,

CJ Goggin

Hello, Christopher,

thank you for letting us know.

After investigation of your log, I can see that you are using lot of mods.

Please keep in mind, that we are supporting on the main (vanilla) game without any mods, scripts, plugins etc. It's the mod creator/owner responsibility to make sure their SW is working fine with the game.

I also did notice multiple mod errors in the log you provided.

In order you can run the game again, I would suggest to take out these mods with errors in the log first. If that won't work, you would need to go down even further and take the rest of the mods out one by one to find what mod is breaking your game.

Sorry I can not help you more now, but as said before, as long as this issue is not happening to you on completely vanilla (no mods) game, we are unable to help you.

However, if you would still experience this issue even on the world without any mods, please share me new information including new log file from that session and also the save file.

For logs:

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

For saves:

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thanks in advance about letting me know about the state of your issue when trying without mods.

Kind Regards

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly!

I will see if I have the issue with the vanilla game, but if it is due to an issue with a mod, it is an easy fix!

Thanks again,

CJ

Hello, Christopher,

it's quite long time from your last comment. Since you wrote that you will check in vanilla and let us know if reproducible there, I take it the issue was indeed due to a mod.

In that case, there is nothing more we can help you with at the moment.

If you will experience this issue in vanilla world and/or any other issue, do not hesitate to contact us again.

I will close this thread now.

Kind Regards
