mid-end pc struggling to run space engineers at medium-high graphics

frost shared this bug 22 months ago
Won't Fix

i recently purchased the game on steam, the entire ultimate edition bundle with all the DLC and i have experienced frequent stuttering, low fps and generally unstable gameplay. the game also usually crashes when spawning in a blueprint, even a small-grid blueprint with around 500 parts.

my specs are as follows:

GTX 1060 6GB

i7-4790k

12GB RAM

i've reached out to multiple people, including mods on the discord to try and gather some assistance and i have tried all the solutions submitted in the forums, unfortunately none seemed to work. im unsure of what to do now, i am no longer able to refund the game as i've played longer than 2 hours but i don't want to refund the game as i find it quite enjoyable, though the poor performance really hinders my experience. i previously had this game on xbox and even that would run better than what is currently happening.

i would just like to know if there is anyway i can fix this or if this has happened to anyone before.

thanks,

liam

Hello, Engineer!

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue.

Could you check if the correct graphic adapter is selected? To do so, click on Options from the main menu > click on Display > in the Display Settings, make sure that the correct graphic adapter has been selected in the Video Adapter setting (it should be like, Nvidia or something similar). Kindly also change your Video Mode to a lower (recommended) screen resolution. Save the changes, restart the game if required, and check if the issue persists.

If you still experience the issue, could you send us the log files (SpaceEngineers & VRageRender) when experiencing this issue (if possible, the game crash log as well)?

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar, and you will get redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that, follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

We are looking forward to assisting you with this issue.

Kind regards,
