Main Remote Control is bugged if block is removed

Dementiurge shared this bug 16 months ago
Reported

Behavior: Setting a remote control to the Main Remote Control and then removing the block (e.g. through direct deletion or grinding) will not relinquish its Main Remote Control status, interfering with later efforts to control the grid by a remote control.

E.g.

The "Main Remote Control" check box for other remote controls will be grayed out.

Attempting to remote control a grid through the Remote Access panel will be refused.

This bug does not appear to affect cockpits. You can still use a remote control directly by using the "Control" button in the block's terminal.

Reproduction: Start with a functioning ship with a remote control.

Set that remote control's "Main Remote Control" to true.

Remove the remote control block in a manner of your choosing.

Add a new remote control to the same ship and attempt to set that remote control's "Main Remote Control" to true. (It should be grayed out.)

Attempt to control the ship by remote using the Remote Access panel. (Control will not be given.)

Expected: Removing a remote control should relinquish control of the grid so that other remote controls may operate normally.
