Is Japanese already supported?

There is a Japanese translation file, but it cannot be used in-game. That file looks almost perfect.
Not sure if this is a bug and not shown or implemented.

Yes, you are right. The files are there. However, the Japanese is not officially supported, yet.
It shall be fully implemented in one of upcoming updates.
