Piston reset velocity toolbar resets velocity to -0.5

Hello,
I am trying my hand at using pistons.
However the default velocity of a piston is set to -0,5. So when I for instance want to use the "Reset Velocity" option on the taskbar instead of the piston stopping it starts retracting.
Expected behavior would be the piston velocity gets set to 0.
