Can't join server

Zack Ballard shared this bug 20 months ago
Solved

hello! I am attempting to join a server with some of my friends. I have good internet, my friends can join on Xbox and PC. A few other people I know are having the same problem. What is wrong? I can't get much more specific than that as I have no idea what the problem is.

Hello, Zack,

thanks for sharing your issue with us.

Can you please share me more information?

Sending me a log file would be a good start; yours (client) and possibly the server log as well, if you have access to it.

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

What server is it exactly? Some that you (or some of your friends) are running, some other random server that you play on, or official Keen server by any chance? Are you able to connect to other servers without issues?

Were you able to connect to this said server without issues in the past, and this only started to happen recently?

Any more information that you can share might help me.

Kind Regards

Thank you for responding. I have the folder open, what do I do from there? This is a new server, and I can connect to other servers just fine. I am working on obtaining the server logs.

Hello, Zack,

well, if you have the Roaming/SE folder open, please send me the log files you can find there.

Those are the text files named SpaceEngineers_(some numbers) and the VRage-DirectX11_(some numbers) as well, so I can look on these.

Please make sure you send me the log files from the session where you tried to connect to the said served. Ideally, if you can run the new session, try to connect to some server that is working fine for you, and then to the server in question, let it try to connect for some time, and if you are not able to connect, close the game and send me the log from this newest game session, so only the connection attempts are there.

Thanks.
