Hydrogen Tank airtightness

domingo shared this bug 20 months ago
Reported

The hydrogen tank (both LG and SG) are airtight on the middle parts of the block, but not on the curvy parts.

However, when encasing the tank only partially (as in provided workshop item), user might expect from the shape of the tank, that it will hold the air tight.

It does not.

See old issue (Outdated, but still not fixed): https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/lg-hydrogen-tank-weird-airtightness

It will probably require code change to use inner block faces for airtightness, not only surface ones.

Hello, domingo,

thanks for reaching our forum with your problem.

Unfortunately, this is not an issue, as you can see on the shared image. This is just simplified version of your builds (but there it is visible as well). There are actual holes when the tanks are just party in the room and not fully covered by the walls, or completely out of the room and connected by conveyors. Hope you understand it better from my image.

Will close this thread as not a bug, as there really isn't any. The room needs to be fully sealed in order to be airtight.

Kind Regards

Not really true.

See: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2837981498

When Hydrogen Tank is encased with "round" parts covered by glass (or any other airtight block), but the 'ribs' are exposed, the tank is encased in airtight space.

Break any glass and the tank won't be in airtight space anymore.
