CtD on world load

Andy Jones shared this bug 22 months ago
Solved

Regardless whether it's a local save, or a dedicated server (running on another PC in the same network), I get crashes to desktop on world load more often than not. Weirdly, not all the time.

I have tried verifying game integrity several times, reinstalling the game twice, clearing shader cache, deleting config files, reinstalling graphics drivers... (I work in IT support, I have probably tried everything)

I have attached a few log files. I see no "errors" in them myself. Logs on the server just act like I'm joining, then drop.

My PC specs are as follows;

Windows 11 x64, 21H2 (just updated to 22H2 but haven't tried SE again yet)

AMD 5800X cpu - no overclock

X570 chipset motherboard

AMD 6800XT (Sapphire Nitro+) - minor overclock, though have tried without (currently using driver 22.6.1, most recent)

32GB 3200Mhz RAM

NvME hard disks, for both OS and games

1000W PSU

Hello, Andy!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues. There are no exceptions in your logs. Can you please attach one log from a mod-free world where the crash definitely took place? We are unable to look at modded worlds and want to be sure that the crash took place in a single log. Please also be aware the game is not currently supporting Win11, so using it for playing can result in various issues.

Kind Regards

Annoyingly, since I updated my Windows 11 install to version 22H2 last week, I haven't been able to make it crash... I will keep an eye out for it and if it starts happening again, I will grab a log from a modless world and open a new ticket.
