[Modding Bug] Post Most Wanted patch, i can no longer use dummies in main scene for particles

Constantine Carlos shared this bug 22 months ago
Won't Fix

previously, i was able to set a defined muzzle empty to spawn particles for a gatling type weapon block

after most wanted patch dropped, my gatling stopped spawning particles (as i was using a defined empty)

any chance for a fix?

in this image, the particle is off center towards the top of the barrel subpart and not spinning. however, post most wanted, the particle stopped rendering

just put the 20mm Rotary Cannon on anything and fire; particles will not spawn

weapon empties and particles can be edited in 20mm Ammo Def.sbc

Hello, Constantine Carlos!

Thank you for the further update and mod. I have been testing the mod on a ship. I currently have the pre- Most Wanted game running with the 20mm Rotary cannon firing compared to a video of the current version of the game with the same thing happening. I'm afraid I cannot see a single difference of the shooting between both videos. Is it possible you could please provide a video of the issue in game? I appreciate there is a single screenshot but I am unable to understand the difference between what should happen vs what is happening. I think I need to actually see more of what is going on as to me, both appear to be shooting the exact same particles. Any further demonstrations would be excellent.

Kind Regards

Hi! Sorry for the confusion; i forgot i updated the model in attempts to fix the issue. i've obtained the old version from before most wanted went live, and updated the mod linked in the opening post. it should be more apparent now.

here's a video that shows both 1.200 and 1.201 versions using the mod

https://streamable.com/3yuip3

from the video, you can see proper offsets in the 1.200 clip where the particle is attached to the main block

but with the live version, the particle is attached to the subpart instead making it oscillate according to the offset

(please ignore the audio issue for the first half of the clip; audio seems to have duplicated during video editing)

Hello, Constantine Carlos!

Thank you so much for the update and also the video, you've been a huge help! :) I have reported this internally.

Hello, Constantine Carlos!

My colleagues have looked at this and found that you have to add muzzle dummy to the model or, change flash position offset in SBC file.

Kind Regards
