[Modding Bug] Mixing MissileHealthPool and MissileExplosiveDamage destroys any armor block in 1 hit

Constantine Carlos shared this bug 23 months ago
Reported

As the title says, if i mix MissileHealthPool and MissileExplosiveDamage in one ammodef, it will be able to destroy any armor block in a single hit, even if both damage and pool is set to 1. however, non armor blocks seem to be unaffected

video in action (first weapon is set with 550 healthpool and 1 explosive damage. target is a heavy armor wall with welders behind

Hello, Constatine Carlos!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues. I have spent some time on this and like your previous report, could you please clarify what you expect to happen in comparison to what is happening? A little more information would be great. I just want to make sure I get this right for reproducing the issue and reporting it. My assumption is that the damage that is done in the first ship would do the same type of damage to the non-armor blocks. If you could please clarify :)

Kind Regards

essentially, yes, it should be doing roughly the same damage left and right since the left only has an additional 1 explosive damage added to it

however, that 1 added damage makes it completely destroy any vanilla armor block in one hit

if you modify the ammo definition, try replacing the 1 explosive damage with 0 in QuadAutocannonShellExp ammo def. doing so will make it act 'normal'. but readding 1 damage to explosive will make it destroy armor blocks again in a single hit.

as of the current live version (1.201.014), the issue still persists

the provided worlds should still work for replicating the issue
