Multi LCD Surface Blocks (sci fi buttons, cockpits, etc) cannot retain more than 1 LCD state

stubkan shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

This has been a bug for quite some time now... Years.

If I change the state of one LCD - fill it up with text, change the background, colours, perhaps an image made out of size 1 monospace pixel letters...

It will keep its state between restarts.

If I do this with two LCDs on the same block, such as buttons, or a cockpit. Then a restart will mess up every LCD. One LCD usually ends up with another LCD surfaces information randomly, and all the rest get wiped to empty.

The bug may be more prevalent on online servers.

Hello, stubkan!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

I have been trying to reproduce the issue and have been unable to. Each time I restart, the LCD states do not change. Can you please supply an un-modded world where the issue happens? Please provide reliable steps to reproduce the issue.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards
