Air Tight Hanger Doors

Daniel Goodworth shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

- Earth like planet

- Pressurised Hanger with Airtight Hanger Doors (18x) to create opening of 4x9 blocks.

- Airtight Hanger Doors closed

- I was walking backwards, observing Hangar interiors and bumped into one of the Airtight Hanger Doors. I immediately took damage and my helmet closed. I checked this multiple times. Every time my Engineer steps right up to an Airtight Hanger Door there is no OXIGENIUM!!!

This bug is similar to how slanted window blocks allow there to be oxygen or no oxygen inside of its block area.

Oxygen is calculated per block grid area, so blocks with room to move around inside of, like slanted windows, hangar doors, slanted armor panels etc. can make you suffocate, even if your character is on the side of the block that should have oxygen.

A blocks area is either filled with oxygen or no oxygen. It can't be both. In this case, there is no oxygen on the inside of the hangar door block, because if it were, there would have to be oxygen on the outside surface of it also.

I think the devs solved this issue the right way. Having a small area inside your pressurized zone where there is no oxygen is better than being able to breath oxygen on the outside surface of the spaceship. If oxygen filled the doors grid area, it might also cause strange behaviours on the outside, allowing players to route oxygen where it absolutely should not be possible.

Hello, Daniel!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues. Can you please supply a copy of a world where you experience this issue with reliable reproduction steps? I don't feel there is enough information in your ticket to allow us to reproduce the issue, Are you playing online or offline? Are you using any mods at all? if so, please remove them before sending the save file as we cannot provide support for mods as these can cause a wide array of issues.

Looking at Monstertruck's comment, if they are having the same as you - It sounds like there is a small space where there is no oxygen? As I say, please supply a file where we can look at this :)

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineers!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
