(VST) "GetVector3DComponents" Node Can't Connect With Other Nodes

I'm struggling to get "GetVector3DComponents" to connect to anything, it seems it outputs a type "Double&" instead of a "Double", and no other node will take this type of output as far as I can tell. I know that the "&" in Visual Basic means this variable is passed by reference, but I don't know how to apply that in VST (or if it even applies). All other Vector nodes use "Double", so I can't, for example, connect a Component of a Vector to a new Vector.


Is GetVector3DComponents supposed to output a Double?
