[1.200] Armor panels collisions broken

MrMaxwell_ shared this bug 2 years ago
Solved

It seems that armor panels have their collision sizes went large with the 1.200 update. Placing armor panels in a sub-grid aligned to the main grid tightly around any block with faces on the grid bounding cube (even an ordinary armor block) clangs the assembly immediately.

Large block panels seems to be mostly fine (I find they still do collide a bit) but small block panels are bouncing all over the place.

Video here showing the problem, empty world with no mods.

Hello, MrMaxwell_!

Thank you for the video and I'm sorry you're experiencing this. Although you have provided a video, I actually am struggling to reproduce this. Is it possible to have a copy of this world? The angle in which you have the smaller/larger grid blocks together is not quite the same as how I have them and this is causing me to not be able to reproduce the issue.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards

Hi,

Many thanks for your attention to this issue. The world file is attached here. There are two grid assemblies in the world, one of them had armor panels surrounding a large armor block and the other has normal blocks around the large block. I've put the large grids as static grids so that they don't immediately spin away, you can convert them into ship grids to see the full effect.

I'm also certain it's not to do with some sort of incorrect rotor displacement value.

Hello, MrMaxwell_!

Thank you so much for the save file with the comparison of both. I have successfully reproduced the issue and reported it internally :)
