Game crash while joining multiplayer with graphics on high, single player works fine.

Won't Fix

This one is related to a previous since then closed ticket, but i thought it'd be worth bringing up.

I've been getting repeated crash to desktop when trying to join multiplayer games, from both private servers and keen's CA #1/#2

I got either the overheated message, or just a generic "stopped responding" message from windows.

I found out that if i turn the graphics to low before joining the MP server, it'll let me in without crashing, then once in i can turn everything back to the highest settings. If everything is set to the highest settings, i crash repeatedly when trying to join.

This is the same problem as i previously had brought up in the topic below, that came back up after i thought fixed by clearing the shaders cache before every launch.

The fact that dropping the graphics settings to the lowest while joining fixes it might point to something misbehaving during game load.

Hello, Engineer!

Could you please provide a log from when this happens?

I notice in the linked thread you were using Windows 7 and were advised to possibly think about upgrading. If you are running Windows 10, please provide a log for us to take a look at :) If you are still running Windows 7, we would still suggest upgrading to Windows 10 as 7 is not supported.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.
