Game crashes when trying to create custom game

Won't Fix

Hello. I have months without playing space engineers because of this error.

Whenever i try to create a custom game the game crashes, if i load a scenario it throws a error, if i try to connect to a server it loads and then crashes (oficial sv or not). I tried everything that i saw on internet, but nothing seems to help.

The game crashes in the moment that i press the "custom game" button in the new game menu.

Thanks for reaching us regarding your issue.

You write above that you tried everything that you were able to find on the internet in order to fix/troubleshoot it on your end, but please... can you go through this list of fixes/workarounds again?

  • Verify your game files in Steam - right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files
  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file (it means your game configuration will be deleted) - you can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Delete ShaderCache folder - same access as above
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game - meaning full new install. Delete ALL leftovers in appdata and Steam folders that might be there, restart PC and install the game again with fresh data.
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Once you do all of these steps, please let me know if anything worked.

It´s already quite long time from when this issue was originally posted as well as from the last comment.

Are you still experiencing it? Or was it fixed in the meantime.
