[187] Screenshots are made with 50% transparency/alpha

Digi shared this bug 6 years ago
Solved

Steps to reproduce:

1. Post-processing in graphics settings needs to be off

2. Take a screenshot with F4.

3. Open the screenshot file (%appdata%/SpaceEngineers/Screenshots/) and hopefully notice how it's semi-transparent.

This also affects screenshots made for blueprints.

Hi,

I can't reproduce this. Maybe some settings on your drivers could do this.

Using nvidia 388.31 and the only non-default things in the nvidia control panel are:

  • Maximum pre-rendered frames: 1 (default is use 3d application setting)
  • Power management mode: Adaptive (default is optimal power)

And that's kinda it, these are the global settings and SE profile uses them.

I'm still leaning that it's a game issue since PP on does not have this issue, and it started when PP was added in the visuals major.

Here's a cropped version of a screenshot: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/166886199200448512/479653948643606533/Untitled.png

(full res is too large to be uploaded without compression/converted to JPEG)

Also seems that having FXAA off is also required.Try the low graphics preset, I've replicated it with that aswell.

I have this same problem.

Pictures are fine in vanilla worlds with PP on, but once I turn off PP, they become transparent:

PP on

PP off

My screenshots also become transparent when I install graphical mods like this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1289657379

Hello,

we reproduced the issue thanks to additional info with FXAA. With FXAA off and postprocessing off it made exactly same screenshot as above. It's been reported into our system.

We will let you know once we have more info.

Thank you.

Kind Regards
