Mining drills on station

I have a large grid mining drill attached to my underground base via 5 pistons and an advance rotor. The drills are not showing any movement and occasionally a hole appears in front of them. The rotor also seems to not move at all when turned on, just a lot of banging noises. The drills appear to be working however because they are collecting material.
I have the same bug Access denied
