To clarify, I dont mean its changing in the control panel. All settings are exactly what I set them to when the bug occurs. I made the starter rover into a 6x6 and noticed an issue that seems to happen randomly where the middle axle inverts steering sometimes when I engage 6 wheel steer mode. The first time I simply inverted steering and it happened again shortly after. I assumed it was due to damage on the rear undercarriage, but even after repairs where made it later happened again with an empty load. I decided to keep tabs on it thinking maybe it has something to do with the weight distribution, but it is happening again with a full load this time. The world does have some light mods, but none that I would thing could effect grids behavior. I just have stuff like colorful icons, sleep mod, and build vision. You know, quality of life stuff. The bug is easy enough to work around with a hotbar toggle, but could cause gameplay issues when focus is the difference between all going well or clang claiming my grids
Invert of steering when changing vehicle mass
Reported
Altering the mass of a vehicle will change the steering of some Wheel Suspensions.

I have the same bug
Update: This problem is connected with the center of mass of the vehicle. After filling the containers, the center of mass moves behind the center axis and this causes the inverted steering.

I can also attest to this. I have a vehicle where both front and back wheels turn to rotate the vehicle. When the containers fill up the center of gravity moves behind the rear wheels, and the steering behavior changes so that all wheels move in the same direction, causing the vehicle to strafe, not turn.
It would be much better if we could dictate the steering direction instead of the game deciding for us.

Hello, All!
Thank you to Local Yokel for bringing this to our attention that it is still an issue. I have tried with a few different rovers but have been unable to reproduce the issue with the containers in different areas. Could you please supply a rover that this is happening for you on?
Kind Regards

hello
dear devs!
please let the player decide whether both the propulsion, and the steering of a wheel suspension should be inverted, or not by hand, do not set these things by default as the player is placing the suspensions, or the player is making the center of mass to be at a different place by accident
only set default inversions on wheel suspension placement, do not update it, and on placement set the default inversions the way that it is reflected by both the "inverted propulsion", and the "inverted steering" checkboxes of the respective wheel suspensions' terminal configuration

Sry, been busy and forgot to reply. I think this is the issue and the reason it seemed to be random was because some of the items I loaded up weighed more than others and the center of mass was different in some cases. I will reconfigure my hot ars so I can toggle steering inversion as needed for now until it gets fixed
