[1.190.008] SE Dedicated Server Dont start after update

Claus Pedersen shared this bug 5 years ago
Won't Fix

Hi Keen.

I'm an server engineer for an small private server hosting site and we are using TCAdmin to host our SE dedicated servers from.

Last night our server were running fine from the Control Panel of TCAdmin, where we had access to console and everything else.

Then we updated to patch 1.190.008 and now the server wont start anymore.

The game shows in the task manager but is halting at 15Mb of ram and dont go any further from there.

The Console don't show anything at all either (Literally just a black screen)

We tried to run the server from a bat file manually and that worked and we could start the server again but we cant use that on our production server since we wont have access to the console then.

What have changed to the SE Dedicated Software to cause this ?

We really need to get this fixed since atm we have to run every server we have manually without using the TCAdmin Control Panel and is a tons of work for us to maintain and have no real control of the server without.

Kind regards

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for contacting us. The actual game version is 1.190.009, we recommend you to verify integrity of game files in Steam. Please let us know if it helped you.

Yeah I updated to .009 last night when the update went out, but unfortunate it's still the same.

Did you change anything regarding permission of the windows account that runs the dedicated exe file ?

Also just so you got a bit more info on the setup we have, then we run:

Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard (Build 9600)

on an Intel Xeon CPU E5-1620 v2 3.7GHz

with 64GB Ram

Just in case that gives any idea.

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for your response. Did you also try to verify integrity of game files as well as the dedicated tool files in Steam? (Properties → Local files → Verify integrity of game/tool files)

We don't have steam running in the background due to this is a server hosting server and all updates and verification of the server files are done directly from TCAdmin's steam commandline implementations, so it does validate the server files when we do an update and there is no new updates, so in that regard, yes, we have validated the game files a couple of times.

As I mentioned in the first post, we are able to start the server fine when using a bat file with the same commandline as we uses to start the server with from TCAdmin but only when we are starting it manually using the Remote Desktop of the server it self.

Once we try start it from TCAdmin as we used to do before v1.190.x it just don't start anymore.

Console shows but with no server progressing in it.

The dedicated server exe file is shown in task manager but stands still at 15mb of ram and dont go any further than that.

It dont create any new log files either so we cant even get an log on what's going on.

Kind regard

Claus

Hello, Engineer!

As this thread is rather old now, as well as last comments, let me please first ask if you are still experiencing this issue even nowadays (v197.181)?

If yes, what are the symptoms now? Did the behavior changed anyhow throughout the time or is it still the very same? Can you specify?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
