[1.189.042] Spontaneously Exploding Merge Blocks on Release

I am having serious issues with merge blocks randomly exploding when I turn the block off to release it from another merge block. This doesn't happen every time, but it occurs very frequently. When it explodes it damages all the blocks around it.
This did not happen in earlier versions of the game, but from other bug reports it looks like this started happening around 4 months ago or so and has yet to be resolved.
I have attached a save game that demonstrates this problem. Upon loading, press Button #2 and sit back. The bug will typically occur within 30 seconds or so.
