[1.187.x] Mineral signals might not disappear sometimes
Solved
Maybe it's a new feature that wasn't properly announced...
Easy Start - Earth.
1. Go to ore detector near the base and power it off.
2. Leave cockpit and draw hand drill
3. Stand for about a minute while holding a drill
4. Run away until the signals are about 1 km away, still holding a drill
5. Sheathe a drill. The signals are still visible.
Signals persist after dying, but vanish after world reload.
Can also be reproduced by a grid with an ore detector.
If an Ore detector is "on" and in range when a world loads they persist until the world is unloaded. Signals will persist no matter the distance. Easiest to replicate in space.

After some experimentation it appears that the first set of Ore Icons added to the hud won't disappear. it just so happens that an ore detector on during world load does exactly this.

@Geneticus0 I am able to consistently reproduce it on any set of ore icons - just a matter of being long enough around the deposit with a drill or in a ship with active detector.

That's a good point. It does seem to happen based on how long the detector is active while you are in proximity. That's odd.

Ran into this last evening. Had a simple ship flying to various ore locations / meteorites with a ore detector on it. Noticed that the ore signal stayed even when I flew way out of their range (small ship, 50m range, but signals stayed for many km's). This only happened to, say 50% of the signals. Turning the detector off, powering the ship off and destroying the ore detector didn't had any effect on the 'ghost' signals. Only a reload (F5) removed them again.
