[1.187.x] Losing air everytime I place a block on base

I have airtightness on. Every time I add a block to the base, it keeps pressurizing the whole base, causing me to lose oxygen in the tanks. Is this a known problem? Does anyone else have this?
Should I play with airtightness off?
