[1.187.208 | SP/MP] Merge blocks explode when unmerging

Auga shared this bug 5 years ago
Outdated

Problem:

Merge blocks tend to explode on unmerging, especially when the grid is moving. This didn't happen in earlier versions.

Replication:

Load the attached savefile and just press "1" inside the ship to unmerge the container below it.

Most of the times both merge blocks and a lot of blocks around them will explode. Try this while landed, flying and hovering, sometimes it works, most of the times not.

Same problem here. I have a small grid ship with an airtight hatch. The hatch consists of 4 merge blocks, 2 rotors and 2 pistons. (see attached 1mb video)

Opening the hatch works like this:

Timer 1:

- unmerge all merge blocks (turn off)

- start Timer 2 (1 second wait)

Timer 2:

- extend the pistons so the hatch's merge blocks get a bit of distance to the ship's merge blocks

- reverse rotors (=open hatch)

- turn merge blocks on again (so I can close the hatch if needed)

This works fine as long as the ship's landing gears aren't locked to the ground. As soon as the landing gears are locked, there's a 80% chance, that the merge blocks will explode on opening for no reason. Altough the hatch has no contact to the ground.
