[01.187.xxx] OpenVR prevents me from starting SE

For a few updates now, I am unable to start the game;

- I press play in the Steam library page

- I see splash screen

- Then a small window appears with the title "space engineers"

- I hear the typical menu music

- A msgbox appears that says I need to "apply windows updates etc.."

- Pressing ok, let me fill in a bug report and then the SE window closes.

In the AppData/Roaming/SpaceEngineers folder, I see an empty VRage-openVR.log ... Why is this file created?

I am not trying to play SE in VR ! SteamVR is not running ! (but my headset is attached to USB/HDMI as per usual)

I'm running the latest updates for my win10x64 and my 1070Ti.
