Need More Information

Hello Support, I need help with my game. It crashes and forces me to completely restart my computer. Stability tests have not revealed any problems with the computer itself. There is no specific situation in which it crashes; it just happens randomly. I have also tested it without mods, but the problem persists. The drivers are all up to date and other games run normally. I attached a log file which has been created recently. Maybe this helps.

Thank you for your help

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum. We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue.

From the log you provided, we could not identify any crash errors that indicate the cause of the crash. Could you please try the following steps, which may help resolve the issue:

1. Verify game files in Steam

  • Right-click Space Engineers in your Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files.

2. Delete your game configuration

  • This will reset your game settings to default.
  • Press Windows Key + R, type %appdata%, and press Enter.
  • Open the \Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder and delete the file SpaceEngineers.cfg. The game will recreate it when you launch again.

3. Delete ShaderCache folder

  • In the same \SpaceEngineers folder, delete the ShaderCache folder.

After these steps, please launch the game, start a new vanilla (unmodded) world, and check if the issue persists.

If it does, please send us:

  • A Windows Event Viewer log from the time the crash occurred.
  • A new game log file from AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder.
  • Any .dmp files located in the same AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder.

To get the Windows Event Viewer log, please open the Event Viewer (from the start menu, type Event Viewer). In the Event Viewer, go to Windows Logs, Application, and send the top “.NET Runtime” error from Application: SpaceEngineers.exe. (please see attached image).

To do this right, please follow these steps:

1) Select the correct file on the left side (Application)

2) Select first the .NET runtime error from the top (using default ordering)

3) Copy the large bottom text and send it to us.

Please Note: make sure that the info is from the Application: SpaceEngineers.exe

This information will help us to investigate the issue in more detail.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department
