Another attempt to make contact regarding railguns damaging blocks behind themselves.

Investigating

This is NOT about railguns skipping blocks that they are shooting. Please DO NOT MERGE. Sometimes railguns damage blocks around or behind them on the same larger grid.

Blueprint will take a minute as the ship is being refitted and the logic needs to be remapped, but I don't anticipate that being a fix here.

Hello,

Thank you for your detailed report and for providing the video – it’s been very helpful in understanding the issue.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the considerable delay in getting back to you. We've been handling a high volume of reports recently, and unfortunately, this one took longer to reach us than intended.

To investigate further, could you please share a blueprint or a world file where the issue can be reproduced? Even if the ship is still being refitted, any version would be useful for our analysis. If you prefer, you’re welcome to upload the blueprint to the Workshop as Hidden – this will ensure it remains private and accessible only to us.

We truly appreciate your effort in helping us improve the game and look forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Hey, hope vacation is pleasant for you - I have only received notification of the ticket closure and not a response. It has been a while since Ive considered just checking back in. Please consider re-opening, as the next thread I make on this issue will be my third.

Here is the Blueprint.

Fly forward, turn on the main battery by accessing toolbar 8 and selecting any of the first four timers, and then moving to toolbar two, where any of the first four slots correspond to a firing mechanism. It will wait for the forward gates to open, but gate control can be manually triggered on the same toolbar.

Slot 5 of toolbar 2 will halt the mechanism.

Do not left click with the weapon tool selected. This vessel takes my computer quite a while to load and replace; I write this to help with your convenience.

Responding to this as well in case the notification structure treats responses to the system differently from responses to developers.

"We're just going to ignore issues until we deem it okay to mark something as 'won't fix' due to 'lack of engagement'"

Shame on you all. You were given clear repro steps and refused to even try.

I wouldnt go so far as that. Creating something new is always the bleeding edge - even if youre using old tools. You cant predict the way things will fail, and you financially cant just hire thousands of people to respond to every issue simultaneously. This is a decade old game and theyre still releasing content and getting new builds and new issues. According to the KSH discord, the person who replied above is on vacation, and far be it from any of our rights to not respect that.

I didnt get the memo that someone had responded, and maybe thats an automated system failing somewhere, but its certainly not shame and dishonor on your family.

Thanks for responding though - keeps it in the front of my head and if i dont hear anything for another day, well, i guess back of the line this goes again.

Hello Zach,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share the blueprint and for your clear and thoughtful repro steps — we truly appreciate the extra care you've taken to make it easier for us.

Also, thank you for your understanding and respectful tone throughout the thread. It means a lot to us, especially during times when we’re juggling a high volume of internal work.

We will review the blueprint and do our best to reproduce the issue based on the instructions you’ve provided. That said, I want to be transparent with you — our QA team is currently quite busy with testing for upcoming updates, so while we will absolutely take a look, it may take some time before we can provide detailed follow-up.

We appreciate your patience and continued support of the game.

Kind regards,

No worries. Id love it to be more functional but it's clearly pushing some limits here. The same system works fine on pieces half the size/pcu/not sure what the exact variable is here.

Very kindly, if you could nudge this the way of someone who manages the community spotlight, I'd be real grateful. I do think this nonsense is worthy of consideration. Either way, thanks for the time, thanks for the game.
