Changing sound modes on a saved game issue

big d shared this bug 21 days ago
Investigating

When changing from 'Arcade' to 'Realistic' I noticed the preset sound blocks I had would deselect the sound they were set to play.

I fixed it but some others who entered builds in the contest may not have, and if the bug affected their chances it would not have been their fault.

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching out to our forum with this issue.

However, I’m currently unable to reproduce the problem on our side.

Could you please provide some additional details? When you mention the "sound block," what exactly are you referring to? Is it the Sound Block, the Jukebox, or another sound-related block?

Also, when exactly are you changing the sound mode? Are you playing in single-player mode, changing the sound mode between saving and loading? Or are you encountering the issue while playing in a multiplayer or online world that hasn’t been restarted in the meantime? Does the issue occur when you next log in (in multiplayer), or when you next load the game (in single-player)?

Additionally, if possible, could you please share a video showing the issue as it occurs on your side? This would greatly help us in understanding and resolving the problem.

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

I'd be happy to provide details. The save I encountered this with is a single player creative save on a standard star system (the one already populated with planets and NPCs). Friends able to join has been turned on and off at different times. I am changing the sound mode with main menu > load game > edit settings > advanced. It has occurred when I next load the game single player without closing the client.

Part of my competition entry requires a 'Sound Block' triggered by a timer/signal relay in order to synchronize the sound with action across 2 grids.

For one reason or another - I suddenly couldn't hear the selected sound (drone - small) in realistic sound mode. Both sound blocks are in a pressurized room. I went to the source, the save I first noticed the issue with and was able to reproduce it instantly.

The name is Easy Start Titan: Site 97 . When I change this save to realistic, and do exactly the same thing with the experimental setup on level 3 - it doesn't play the sound blocks. The elevator is located behind the big door that is turned off labeled 'restricted (CLR 1-4). I note this in case you want to see, because the setup I am describing has some complexity. It uses a sensor, event controllers, large and small grid components, action relays and antennas. All works fine in both modes apart from the Sound blocks.

edit: Unfortunately the video will take too long to upload right now, I will have to clip and compress it to send. But do not have time right now.
