Reloading a save next to a SPRT beacon causes wreck to disappear
I am using the Steam version 1.206.032 b0 default build.
I've had three separate incidents this playthrough of the exact same thing. I couldn't find any such "Feature" in the changelog, so it appears to be a bug to me. I will see a SPRT Beacon, find the wreck and move up next to it. I usually quick save at that point (Shift F5). Later on if I have to reload that save, I'm in the same place, but the wreck and beacon is completely gone. I thought I had reloaded the wrong save the first time, but it's happened twice since then.
I really hope this isn't some kind of new "feature" to prevent save scumming, because if so I'll find myself playing a lot less of this game in the future.
Both times, the wreck was a red style ship that was broken into 3 major pieces with several operating turret guns (interior and exterior). I would post a screenshot of the wreck, but alas there's nothing here anymore.
Loaded up the same playthrough and travelled a bit, found another Mayday, and this is the same crash model as the report above.
Going to see how far I can get before it disappears this time too.

It seems the image I posted here in this comment didn't save - it was a screencap of me right next to the large hydrogen thruster on the left side of the wreck.

Apparently none of my screencaps now are saving in comments - the final screenshot was me alone in space again, no wreck, no beacon, no mayday. 4th time now this has happened.

So it happened again - this time you can see from my "Continue" thumbnail that there's the picture of the large hydrogen thruster that I'm hiding behind. But when I load it, I'll be alone in space again.

Apparently I'm playing the theme to the movie Groundhog Day, I've got a 5th mayday, and it's the SAME exact wreck. Same shape, same pieces, same gun placement, etc. Starting to wonder if I should trash this save and start again.

Hello Tim,
Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.
Could you please provide more details about the issue you're experiencing?
Was the Trash Removal system set to an aggressive setting, or had you already claimed the grid before it was removed or despawned?
Were any MODs active in the world where this occurred? If so, does the issue still happen after removing all MODs? You can also try creating a new vanilla (unmodded) world to check if the same problem occurs.
If your world is already vanilla, could you please share a screen recording/video showing the issue, along with the affected world save file and log file from the time this issue occurred?
Kind Regards,

I had some mods activated, but just this evening I figured out what was happening. When I encountered a wreck or beacon ship, if I bumped into it even slightly, it would trigger the "unclaimed grids will disappear in 2 hours" although I didnt' usually see the message. I realized if I was able to grind something with a panel on it, then weld it back up, and then activate the panel, I could click the "Claim Grid" button in the upper right and it would no longer disappear. I didn't expect the grid to need to be claimed before I started grinding anything, but apparently the timer gets set on first contact. Since then I've seen the message sometimes when bumping into a block, but the grids only disappear if I save/reload before claiming the grid.
That might not be a bug, but at the very least I wanted to update this thread when I saw your response. Thanks for replying!

Hello Tim,
Thank you for sharing additional information.
To prevent NPC grids from despawning, you’ll need to claim them. Claiming transfers the grid’s PCU to you, but please note that you’ll still need to hack any blocks to gain access and ownership.
Since you mentioned that unclaimed grids disappeared after saving and reloading, it would be recommended to review your Trash Removal settings. While in-world, press Alt+F10 to open the Admin Screen. From the dropdown menu, select Trash Removal. Please review the conditions under which grids may be removed. You can disable Trash Removal entirely by selecting the Suspended option, or apply any changes by clicking the Submit Changes button.
Also, please note that active MODs can influence grid removal. We recommend checking the Trash Removal behavior in both modded and unmodded versions of your world to help determine whether the issue is game-related or caused by a specific MOD.
