Event Controller on Server with O2 and oxygen tank

Duane Illsley shared this bug 22 days ago
Won't Fix

When the Event Controller is set up to a percentage for how much oxygen goes into the O2 tank and I am on the sever it works but the problem comes when I log off the server and then log back on. The Event controller is always on when getting back on the server the lights are green and it seems to go through all of the ice that is on the base. The event controller is set up correctly and will work after I logg on to the server and adjust the slider to a different percentage but as soon as I log off and logg back on the lights are green again and it has eaten up all of the ice that the O2/H2 has in it and all of the Ice on the base. I put 215k in a cargo container and it used it all up in one night. It is not controlling the o2/h2 correctly or the event controller has a problem with servers.

hello!

you might have noticed other blocks to not work while no player is nearby to witness it as well.

functional blocks are only vagualy simulated, but do not exist when there is no player in their vicinity currently.

for example custom turret controllers will not follow the sun if you build such solar panels too, and it is likely that rotors, hinges, pistons will not work neither when you are trying to set those up to extend or whatever with your solar panels in case you have built your base inside an asteroid on a server

Hello Duane,

Thank you for reaching out on the forum and for sharing the detailed information.

From what you've described, it seems your issue may be related to another report discussed in the following thread, which we have already reported internally;

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/28773-event-controllers-not-triggering-their-assigned-actions-on-multiplayer-server

To help us confirm if it's the same issue, could you please clarify a few points?

Does the issue occur only in Survival mode, or does it happen in Creative mode as well?

Is the action not triggered even though the Event Controller shows that the condition is met?

Do other Event Controllers on the same grid lose the status text that normally reflects block states?

If your answers match this behavior, it's likely the same issue we already know about. If not, please let us know whether you're using any MODs or Scripts. If you are, does the issue persist after removing them?

If the issue still occurs without MODs/Scripts, please send us a screen recording/video showing the issue and blueprint of the affected grid where we can reproduce the issue following the reproduction steps. This will help us investigate more accurately.

  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.

Kind Regards,
