Planetary Encounters -Claimed base replaced by new encounter at same spot
Solved
With new Fieldwork world start, I claimed a Shipping Platform planetary encounter to bootstrap my startup. After flying away to trade at a station, on my flight back I saw a new shipping platform encounter... from a different faction, at MY gps station mark- on arrival, new station as in exact spot, replacing the one I claimed and modified. Same Orientation and everything, different colors, missing all of my mods so far. Something is bugged with the encounter locations, i think now ill have to cut the bases loose and fly them away a bit as a temp fix.

Hello Lane,
Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum, and sincere apologies for the delayed response.
Could you please confirm if this issue has already been resolved or if it's still occurring?
If the issue persists, kindly provide more details about the issue.
Does the issue happen in a single-player world, a lobby session, one of our official Keen servers, or a private server?
If it occurred in a private server, lobby, or single-player world, were any MODs enabled at the time? If so, does the issue still occur on a completely vanilla (unmodded) world or server?
If the issue happens in vanilla as well, please send us a screen recording/video showing the issue, the log file from the time it occurred, and if you're in a single-player world or are the host of the lobby/Dedicated Server, the affected vanilla (unmodded) world or server save file as well.
Kind regards,
Keen Software House: QA Department

This was a single player, vanilla world- to explore the new update features. I havent seen it happen again (but continued play and left the moon behind) i ground away the base and moved on. This was a long time ago- is the world save file still useful?

I got the same issue twice yesterday. It seems to be reproducible. Single player survival save, I do have some mods installed, but just wanted to flag that this exact thing occurred with a vanilla encounter (and I have no encounter mods enabled). I don't have time to reproduce on vanilla right now, but I suspect it would be simple to do once a suitable encounter spawns in.
In my case, I claimed an UNKN Logistics Post as my own (all blocks hacked, NPC grid claimed) and built upon it. Flew about 20-25kms to a station and upon return, it was replaced with a fresh version of the same grid in the same exact location and orientation (as Lane mentioned), it even spawned a new logistics drone each time upon approach. This happened twice, but I have since taken a blueprint, pasted it in about 100m away and deleted the spawned in one hoping to prevent this happening again. I had to use admin tools to enable creative mode to replace all the lost blocks and components, otherwise I would have abandoned the save and live stream series.
I suspect this probably doesn't come up in a typical gameplay loop (people would typically loot the grid and move on, I suspect), but in this style of play, it's a devastating thing to happen after investing all the time into building it up.
If I find time to reproduce on a vanilla save, I will open a new thread with the details requested above. Just adding here for now to say "probably not actually solved"
