Investigating

Tried multiple Xbox controllers within the house main problem being left and right triggers not activating tools or weapons or being able to place blocks. on personal controller conflicts with keyboard and mouse\ when is selection screen on controller four blocks or otherwise constant changing of folders. Have uninstalled and slash verified files slash uninstalled reinstalled game

Hello D.H.C,

thank you for letting us know about this issue that you are experiencing.

Can you please let us know what controller are you using exactly?

Please note that for PC, the only officially supported controllers are those for Xbox One and Xbox Series X. These should work without any problem in the game.

We did have few threads/issues regarding this problem with other controllers in the past and for those players, experiencing this problem, worked this workaround/setting (bellow). Can you please try?

1) On your PC, open Control panel, switch to Large Icons

2) Go to Devices and Printers

3) Right click on the gamepad and open 'Game Controller settings'

4) Select the controller and press 'Advanced' button

5) Select 'Controller (Xbox One For Windows)' as preferred device

6) Press 'Ok' button

hello!

my xbox 360 controller (that is actually xeox with usb) often requires me to either toggle it at the bottom of it, or to press the middle button with the big "x"

Powera Xbox series X wired controller black, ox1532/ox022B, powera xbox series x enwired purple magma, powera spectra infinity controller, these controllers left and right triggers do not work inside game for tools weapons or placing blocks can interact with doors and consoles, BDA XB1 fusion pro same as prior controllers but when you press the left or right stick to go into those menus constantly acts like it's going through the different selections of the triggers but in control panels you can't get off of any of those selections by using the triggers you can press the left button and go to the one on the furthest side. All other functions from past memory of using being able to use those triggers all seems to be working proper when you are in menus you can use the triggers to select things and other things like that.

So am I to assume none of these are compatible with the game systems do you have a list of compatible controllers that I made one some point purchase?

As previously mentioned, the only officially supported controllers for the game on PC are the Xbox One and Xbox Series X controllers.

From the list you provided, it seems that while you have several controllers, none of them are the official Xbox console models that are confirmed to work reliably with the game.

There is a workaround mentioned earlier, so please make sure to give it a try. In the past, similar steps helped get older controllers like the Xbox 360 working correctly with the game. Following the same process might help resolve the issue for you as well.

However, please note that the controller you are currently using is not officially supported.

check whether your controllers have an "xbox 360 mode" - because i do not own a proper xbox 360 controller neither. i actually play with a xeox one, and that has got a few modes i can switch it into using either a hidden switch phisically on it, or by pressing the big x button (x for xeox, not xbox) - also it is worth mentioning to download, and install the drivers of your controllers, and check if the driver of any of your controllers let you toggle between xbox mode, and factory mode. i have not got an xbox 360 controller just like you do, but i have got several options with it (even playstation mode that is completely not related)
