Just as the title says, often when I build large grids with many different (but repeated) parts I have to scroll though different scrollbar tabs in order to find the item I'm looking for, this feature would allow me to look at a block (already placed in the world) press a key bind and such block would either (if not already added on any of toolbar tabs) replace currently selected toolbar slot or select tab and slot with the item on it. I think this feature would severely increase the quality of life.Cheers

It is a good idea because the G and toolbar loop is a good way to make things that look drastically different in appearance but blocks are not as distinguishable in their 2D icon.
When looking at a part in the environment we know exactly what we want and it's often the thing we are looking at already when repeating patterns.

Please please please add this to the game. Its such a quality of life helper when I can "CTRL+G" a block that has multiple variants instead of hunting down the block that may or may not be on my action bar.

This would be very useful for building in survival. I think it would also be useful in creative, but definitely in survival where we don't have access to symmetry building.

Keen, PLEASEEE Add this in the next update, i would love to just click a button instead of pressing G and searching the block, it would make building so much easier in pretty much any situation.

There is a mod for this, but I agree this should be a base-game feature.

This needs to be added and is a feature in many similar games. Ie mincraft factorio it's middle mouse click. Kerbal nnd infinafactory it's a key combo. I know there are mods out there but if your on console they are not available to use. I spend countless hours searching the build menu for a block I already placed knowing I need that exact same block again but i am unable to find it and end up scrapping
making my ships look good because I get impatient.
