Event controller not properly reacting to "Distance to locked target"

I have noticed with event controllers that they will more often than not struggle to activate correctly when a locked grid enters their alloted range.


I sadly cannot create a scenario where this occurs 100% of the time, but it is somthing that I notice relatively often.

This is easy to reproduce and appears to happen every time. Just create a simple grid with a power source, AI combat block, event controller and something to happen. In my case, what I want is for the Event Controller to enable AI on the Move block. However, no matter if you use Distance greater than or Distance less than, it will never actually execute the command. This bug appears to have been around for a long time per this thread: Event controller not working : r/spaceengineers.

Could you please let us know if the issue is still occurring?

We have a theory that the pivot point of the targeted grid might be affecting the Distance to Locked Target event. However, to confirm this, we would need a save file from your world or the blueprints of the grids you are testing. Could you please share those with us? You can upload them to Steam as Hidden—this way, only Keen QA will be able to see them.

I have created a clean test world and tried this out. Based on testing in creative, it looks like it is working. In other words, I can't recreate the bug anymore. I have uploaded a test world and set it to unlisted so that others can see it from this link. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2422592854

When I get a chance, I will try it again in a real game and see what happens.
