LG Hydrogen Tank weird Airtightness

domingo shared this bug 5 years ago
Outdated

From the shape and function of the Large Grid Hydrogen Tank follows that one segment of the curvy part could be inside of pressurized room, while other segment can be 'outside' - or inside other pressurized room that does not share air with first one.

However air flows through these curvy segments, so it is not possible to seal room with one segment of the tank.

It is because only some outer faces of the tank are airtight.

Proposal: allow also inner faces of the tank to be airtight.

Similar block is LG Small Atmospheric Thruster, however from it's function it is clear that air should flow through it, so it cannot be used to close some room airtight with intake being 'in the room' and exhaust 'outside' (or swapped).

I will do some screenshots later to be more clear.

Screenshot shows wrong airtightness - Hydrogen Tank is covered from quarter, the encased room should be airtight but it is not.

(If I cover rest 3 quarters of tank on other side, this room becomes airtight).

Probably because only those faces of Hydrogen Tank are defined as airtight.

If the Hydrogen Tank airtightness could be defined like this, then it would be possible to have quarter of Hydrogen Tank in sealed room.

Why these screenshots have alpha set to 50% ?

If Small Grid could someday become airtight, then similar problem would be probably with Hydrogen Tank, Oxygen Tank and O2/H2 Generator.

Can you please reopen this issue ?

It is still valid.

It is not possible to cover one quarter of large hydrogen tank and expect it to maintain airtightness, despite the model suggests otherwise.
