[BUG] Death when exiting Cryo/Cockpit after a dedicated server restart

Mathieu Plourde shared this bug 22 months ago
Solved

I have managed to reproduce consistantly this very annoying bug.

1. Create a dedicated server, no mods.

2. Have a grid with a cockpit or a cryochamber (with power and O2) and logout while in the cockpit or cryochamber .

3. Restart the server

4. Relog on the server

5. Exit the Cryo or the Cockpit.

6. Insta Death.

Hello, Mathieu!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Are you able to reproduce this by creating a fresh 'Earth Planet' world, not changing any settings, and visiting the Cryochamber ahead of spawn? After this, restart the server etc. I ask because I have been unable to reproduce this each time I have tested it. It would be good to hear what you find with this.

In the scenario you are having issues with, are there any mods? Have you changed any settings in the DS client? I saw this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/spaceengineers/comments/gb9t9i/cant_log_out_in_a_cryo_chamber_without_dying/ which may be worth looking at.

If you can tell me if you experience the issue on Earth Planet as mentioned and we can determine if it's save specific. If so, I would then ask for a copy of the save

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Hum... I'm not able to reproduce it anymore with a fresh Scenario.

The original scenario I had issue with is the one in attached files, it includes mods tho, but even if you turn them off, the death bug is still present.

Then I recreated a new server with fresh parameters, still with mods, and had the issue. I turned off all the mods, the issues was still there.

I'll do more testing, starting from stratch with default settings, then one by one I'll set them toward the desired parameters to see wich one might cause the issue.

Hello, Mathieu!

Thank you for the update. I would need to see the issue in a world that has not had mods in it. It's quite possible that even though you turned off the mods, that caused the issue. If you are able to reproduce the issue in a world where you have not had mods, we can take a look at that save file for you :)

Kind regards

Well... I failed to reproduce the bug. But I managed to fix it... Used a fresh sandbox.cfg, and remade the config one by one.

So you may be right that a previous mod had corrupted a part of the config file...

Thanks for you help!
