Please double ladder climbing speed
Under Consideration
The climbing speed of the ladder seems to have been designed to be realistic, while the overall speed of the engineer is anything but. The general speed of the engineer makes the ladder climbing feel completely off and too slow. Please make the ladder climbing speed more congruent with the general engineer speed. This is even more important now with the Economy Update, and some of us actually do like to play with no jetpack (or nerfed jetpack) - or simply prefer not using the jetpack unnecessarily.

I like this feedback
Or just make the climbing speed aware of the shift modifier (run mode).
I would say vote this one that has more comprehensive description of ladder improvements:

I'd like this, too.

Right now, just plopping down a few light armor blocks with diagonal sides and running up them is cheaper and faster.
As an aside and not part of this topic, perhaps the blocks should need more than just one steel plate to be usable. That would help balance them against the ladder, which needs to be almost complete before you can climb up.

I think it would be better to not have climbing animation altogether, just go into the ladder and slide up. Or when dropping from above, it will just slowing your fall so you wont get any damage. But yeah, at least increase the speed.

The ladder climbing speed feels too slow compared to the engineer’s overall movement, especially after the Economy Update, and like in retro bowl college where pacing feels balanced and smooth, this should be adjusted for better gameplay flow without relying on the jetpack.

I definitely agree with this suggestion. The ladder feels noticeably slow compared with how quickly the engineer can move elsewhere, so climbing can get frustrating, especially when you’re trying to avoid using the jetpack.
Tying ladder speed to the sprint/run modifier seems like a simple fix that would make climbing feel much smoother without changing the mechanic too much. Little movement tweaks like this can have a surprisingly big impact on gameplay. I’ve noticed the same thing in other games, even something as simple as Slope, where responsive movement makes everything feel better.
Hopefully the developers consider it, because it seems like a small change that could make getting around bases much less tedious.
