Ion Thrusters need a buff

The Hydrogen rebalancing in the last update and the previous addition of smaller tanks has made hydrogen thrusters more viable than ever, but as a result of that Ion Thrusters are now underperforming when compared to them, and are falling by the wayside. Their low thrust and high energy consumption means that it's now almost always better to use Hydrogen thrusters instead.

I have wanted to use Ion Thrusters for many of my recent builds, especially the new Sci-Fi thrusters, but I simply cannot justify it. I can't think of a single reason besides aesthetics to use ion thrusters over hydrogen. They just aren't good enough any more.

I would like to see at least a 50% increase in power.

Yes, I think we need something like that

Given how ION thrusters cost more in terms of resources (requiring platinum) and progression... it is a bit underwhelming to get out into space, mine some platinum, and realize the thrusters you can now make, suck balls.

One uses solid fuel, the other doesn't... nuff said. With ion thrusters add enough solar panels and batteries to your ship and don't use dampeners unnecessarily and your ship can self-sustain in deep space without having to run for ice when your tanks run dry if you had used hydrogen. I think they are perfectly balanced at the moment. If you need power --> use hydrogen, if you need to run without solid fuel ---> use ion thrusters. The fact that they both have their ups and downs is what pushes you to think about using them both. The best designs are always hybrid designs that make use of multiple types of thrusters.

They make for good sustainer or manoeuvring thrusters.
