Hello, George,

thanks for letting us know about this issue.

While I did saw it in past at some place(s), now I´m not able to reproduce it. It might have something to do with some specific grid build and/or asteroids position in relation towards sun position/rotation.

You think it is possible to share me a safe file of your world where this behavior can be observed? That way I can take a look on my own, that would be the best.

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards

Here is a world that I have created that demonstrates this bug. Spawn into the box, and hove your mouse over any of the control panels or medical room panel, and you should see the sun shining through. Please note that you are inside an asteroid I hollowed out with a warhead.

Hello, George,

thanks for coming back to this thread and for providing the save file.

While it is not the same world as on the original image, I don´t think that it matters, really. You did experience it even in this world, right?

Unfortunately, I´m still not able to reproduce it :( Tested it on all graphical presets as well.

That means that it´s not so obvious and generally broken for all the players, but rather your local problem in game files, shaders, settings... To fix it on your own, you can try some of these advices:

- verify integrity of game files - right click on SE in Steam library - Properties - Local Files.

- go back to Roaming folder - SE and delete there SharedCache2 folder and SpaceEngineers.cfg (this means that if you have some custom setting/configuration in the game, it will be deleted, sadly).

If nothing of this works, can you please specify better your graphical settings in the game? Are you using low/mid/high preset, or some custom settings? If yes, can you tell me the individual values you have there? Especially the Flares intensity. You can either write down the full list, or just printscreen will be good as well.

Am I right that it is 100% reproducible for you in any game situation (I mean in the situations you wrote above)?

Last but not least... you are not using any mods, right? Some that are changing the graphics, world/space environment, sun/flares, light in general, shadows etc.?

Thanks in advance for you reply.

Kind Regards

I altered the flare intensity, and that seemed to fix the problem. Flare intensity reduced from 1.0 to 0.5

Hello, George,

thanks for coming back. And since you seems to fix it on your side, I think I can take this one as "fixed"/not happening anymore. Will close this thread now.

If the issue will start to happen to you again, or you will bump into some other issue, please open new thread with providing all necessary information.

Kind Regards
