Cant Join Any Games

Won't Fix

Hi,

Not been able to join a single onlien game since i started playing, tried Keen servers as well as friend dedicated but none are working, error shown is host has left game, even when there are multiple people in my friends server it doesnt work,

Tried so far:

Game Reboot

Cache Clear

Manual Port fowarding for 29761

Server Reboot

Full Re-install


none of the above have resolved the issue, please help.

Hello, Shaun!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. You say since you started playing, is this recently? I ask because there is an upcoming fix due which is addressing some server joining issues and this may help you unless this has been going on for quite some time. I would suggest retesting in the hotfix and letting us know :)

In the meantime, I know you have done some of these things but I would suggest doing anything else you have missed and seeing if this helps.

  • Verify your game files in Steam

  • Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

  • Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Thank you for updating us. I can see you have already provided a log. Would it be possible to check how many servers are in your favourites list? There is a known issue that could cause a similar result if you had quite a few in there. Please let me know if this could be a problem.

Hi Laura,

I only have 1 game in my favourites list, but i have also tried deleting it from favourites as well as direct connect, i literally have not been able to join a single game since purchase... i cant only run offline solo games

Thank you for the update. Could you please go to the join game screen > advanced and reset the filter to defaults?

In your log there are quite a few servers filtered. Could you please reset the filters and see if this enables you to join as expected.

Hello, Shane!

After some discussion, we would like to see a video of what actually happens from your side when you try to connect to the server. Going to the join game screen, select any server, press join, and wait in the joining screen so we are able to get a better idea as the logs aren't giving us a full picture. This would be great if possible :)
