mining boulders with ship drills mines ALL boulders of that type.

Solved

So... say You find an iron boulder, and you mine it. Only to find that ALL iron boulders in the game, has been mined. This is happening with all iron, silicon, magnesium, cobolt etc. so in reality, you only got one of each boulder. this is making my scenario very difficult, as i run a few mods to make it harder.

hand mining seems to work fine, and does not cause this bug to happen. Only small and large grid drills.

tested with no mods enabled, on a fresh star system game, and was able to replicate the issue.

Hello, SingularityGaming,

thanks for letting us know. However, I was not able to reproduce the issue. I think I need more info from you.

What exactly you mean by "mining boulders"? Like... fully mine it so there is nothing left? You are saying you played in Solar System, was it on any planet? Or in space? Just boulders like full asteroids, or any ore deposit, leaving the stones around untouched? Do you think that all deposits of that or are gone completely from the planet? Or from all around the game map, including asteroids and other planets in whole solar system?

Are you playing singleplayer?

Thanks in advance for answer and providing those information.

Kind Regards

Thank you for the reply.

what i mean by mining boulders: if you use any type of miner with a grid drill (small or large) and mine an iron boulder on any planet. you will be mining all iron boulders in your save. think of it as if you got one iron boulder, and anything you do to that one boulder, is then copied to all other iron boulders.

this is happening with all boulders iron, nickel, cobalt, silicon, magnesium etc.

have not tried it on asteroids, and underground deposits seems to work as intended.

if you use a static grid and try to mine a boulder, then nothing happens, as in the drill doesn't mine anything, and no deformation happens. except for the voxels around the boulder.

and just as a side note, if you have a save where this is happening. and tries to start over in a new save. the deformation of the boulders is carried over to the new save. (you have to delete the old save, quit the game and then make a new save to overcome this issue)

best way to show you what i mean is to try my save. i have left a miner in front of an iron boulder. try and mine the boulder, and then go to the other boulder that is marked with the gps Fe. there you should see that the deformation is carried over.
