Assembler fills up with silicone ore, cant produce items. And conectors.

error 404 shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

Playing on EU2, cant confirm for singleplayer, cos i didnt play solo for a while.

Basicaly my assembler fills itself up with silicone wafers to full capacity, than its unable to produce anythingh cos its full and cant draw in other materials.

I have to remove silicone out of it manualy every time i want it to produce somethingh.

Than after it finishes making stuff it slowly fills back up with silicone.

Another issue i have is that out of all available storage that i have, and i have enough, my asembler and refinery prioritise depositing their finished products in conectors. Ony after conectors are full of plates and ores do they get deposited in large storage cointaner.

This is a big inconvenince, since my storage is well inside the base and well protected, and conectors are outside and exposed. I sometime conect too hard ostly due to laggy server and ruberbanding and my conector explode, than i have to pick up a ton of stuff by hand.

Please change it so materials prioritise beeing depositet in actaly storage containers and assemblers can also remove ores from their inventories, not only draw them in.

Than draw in those that are needed for the current job.

Cheers

Hello, error 404!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. So far, I have not been able to reproduce this issue but after doing some digging I came across this thread on Reddit and wondered if it's possible that you have a similar setup? I appreciate you said you're playing online so I can't ask for your save but could you possibly supply a video of this happening to determine if this is a bug or by design? if it is a bug, I can get it reported for you and if it is by design, you could submit your idea via this feedback form.

Hi

My assembler, refinery and large storage are all within a couple blocks distance. I would make a complicated array of sorters, as i usualy do in single player, but i am trying to minimise my PCU usage.

Will post a picture when i get back home.

Hello, error 404!

Thank you for the information. A picture would be a big help so I can recreate a similar setup for testing this :)

Here.

First pic right side you can see the full assembler, on the left side there is a load of silicon that i alredy removed from it a day earlier. Both are 9.32 tons or whatever. Oh btw incase you are wondering if i moved that silicone in the assembler myself just so i couly whine on the forum i asure you the game is buggy enough even without faking it :D

The second and third pic is my glorious industrial complex, a refinery and assembler with upgrade modules,a hydrogen generator, a hydrogen engine and backup survival kit. All nice and compact to keep the PCU down, cos only 20 k limit yo.

Oh btw i toop the pictures before the voxels loaded so its clearer.

Hello, error 404!

Thank you for the further information and images. The best thing would be to provide a copy of the blueprint for what you're working with so I can try and reproduce the issue myself :)

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.

Hello

The file is atached, but i doubt there is anythingh unusual with the design since its only made of standard items and realy simple.

Btw when you are "reproducing" the issue do you do it on your work or home computer or an actual glitchy server with constant CONECTION PROBLEM warning flashing, with constant rubberbanding, falling in planets etc?

I think all thinghs should be included to get a realistic picture.

Hello, error 404!

Thank you for the blueprint. I have been testing this today on a dedicated server which has actually been showing the connection error at a couple of points. So far, I have been unable to get any silicon to end up in the assembler at all. Could I ask for your reproduction steps? Are you simply filling stone into the refinery for example or are you specifically doing/creating something each time that is producing this outcome? As you mentioned the connection, are you finding this only happens with a bad connection or is it happening either way?

Hi

I have no specific reproduction steps, i just fill in whatever ore i mine in the storage, anythingh from stone on and let the refinery do its work.

I did notice this happened when i gave the assembler some work (like a couple thousand steel plates) to do and i loged off for the night. The next day it was full of silicone, but the work was done without a problem.

As for the conection i always get rubberbanding and connection errors on most servers so i realy wouldnt know what a good conection would look like.

Oh btw unrelated but i am curious., what news are you guys working on for the next update?

Any fun stuff like weapons or new features maybe?

Hello error 404!

Thank you for the further information. I still have been unable to get any silicon to enter the assembler. I have had around 5000 steel plates going and it is all creating as expected without the silicon going anywhere. Is this something you have experienced before? Or has it just been on this particular build? Also, will this happen every time? Say for example you set a high amount of steel plates every day for a week, would you find every morning you'd have silicon in the assembler or, would it be a couple of days out of the week?

Helllo

I didnt play much in the last couple days, and i also i was mostly producing just iron based items, plates and pipes. Those need no silicon. Will try today to make somethingh with silicone and see if it hauls it in until the inventory is full.

Also, it doesnt happen all the time infact it happens rarely but it still happens.

Hello, error 404!

Thank you for letting me know. I will await your update and thank you for mentioning that it does not happen every time.

Hey Laura :D

I sadly didnt have the time to check yesterday, as i promised, since there was a lot of new snowfall and i spent the whole afternoon outside playing with my son :D

Today i checked my assembler on the server and all my onevntories are full of iron ore and plates, so the assembler couldnt work.

For now i would just abandon this whole thread since the problem is harder to recreate than i would imagine it would be to fix.

I did see the new teaser with an engineer reloading and firing a pistol, so i am very excited for that :D

I got my wallet ready lol.

Hello, error 404!

No problem at all :)

If you are sure, I can close this for you as asked but if you would like this looked into again or even another issues, please do not hesitate to let us know :)

I am very glad you are excited - happy playing!
