[1.189.040] Multiplayer: massive desync on a single grid

Jonas Volkmer shared this bug 5 years ago
Solved

Hello there,

my friend and I are having problems in multiplayer. After some time, one grid (may be more, but in our case it always is only one) seems to cause massive desync if a player stands on it. You just bounce and roll back constantly, sometimes you slide for a short time.

Everything else still works fine, no other grid has those problems.

I have recorded footage of the bug and uploaded it on YouTube, maybe that helps with clarification: https://youtu.be/qqweOYqD1UM

Our dedicated server is run by Nitrado and we used some mods, but none of the blocks on that specific grid are modded at the moment. A server restart helps momentarily, but the bug occurs again pretty soon.

The first time the bug occured was on a dynamic grid held in place by landing gears on a standard procedural asteroid, second time on a static grid inside an asteroid.

If further information is needed, please contact me.

Hello, Engineer!

Unfortunately we weren't able to reproduce your issue with our setup. Could you please provide us save file with the world where is this issue happening?

Thank you very much!

Hello, thank you for looking into this. Since I posted the report, the bug only has occured once though, and not anymore in the last few hours of playing.

I try uploading a .zip-file of the backup savegame closest to the bug with this comment.

Having the same issue with grids on my server. Happens after you dock to it sometimes with a ship.

Same, also on a Nitradoserver.

Flying with Jetpack seems fine but walking on our Station brings massive Rubberbanding. Permanently.

Hello, Engineers!

As this thread is rather old now, is any of you still experiencing it even nowadays (v197.180) or in recent past?

Please let me know about current state of this issue. There´s big chance that it got fixed/solved the the meantime.

Thanks in advance for the info.
